Sad news regarding this legendary Yorkshireman. I was once fortunate to sit next to Dickie Bird at an awards dinner: we spent a while swapping our memories of God's Own Country. A wonderful, warm and kind gentleman, with a genuine passion for his home county. RIP Dickie Bird.
It is with great sadness that we share the news of Dickie Bird's passing. The Yorkshireman was a wonderful player and enjoyed a famed career as one of the game's most beloved umpires. He died peacefully at his home, aged 92. Rest in peace, Dickie. ๐ค
