You could have hired actual Voice Actors you know. There are PLENTY just starting out that would be happy to help, pro bono. If it's an unpaid passion project, just SAY that, it's not an immediate turn off. We appreciate honesty more so than whatever this is.

@JayLender1 I feel like there actually IS hate against the big characters for being who they are. There was a whole Civil War. Spidey is hated by a LOT of people, so is Captain America and Hulk. Iron Man to a degree, but he's a billionaire. People in the US LOVE them for some reason 🙄.

It's gotten to a point where even my friends are sending me "funny" tik toks that use AI voices. Where the person in question's voice is run through the AI to make them say whatever. I hate ruining the moment, but hearing how common it is- even in a jovial setting, sickens me.

@LolOverruled I think it's because Dwayne hardly ever compromises the character of "The Rock" for every role. It's just Dwayne as those characters. Dave is absolutely fantastic and has SUCH range- I do wish Dwayne would play characters that, I dunno- maybe go against the grain a little for him.

VOICE ACTORS:. SLOW DOWN on the reads! Sometimes the VA just rips right through the line, in a situation where "pacing" is needed. I get "high stakes" scenes, and that's fine. But if it's like, a somber scene-.slow down the cadence a bit, enunciate!.Diction is your friend :D.

Auditioning over and over, but not being cast is a hard thing to wrestle with. You tend to feel you're doing something wrong. But if you want to be apart, you have to keep showing up. I just need remember this field is super competitive, and my voice isn't meant for everything.

Cooler heads have prevailed. I talked with the project runner on the ethics of AI's use in VO, and we're re-negotiating rates and terms. I just think it's a good idea to educate in these situations. Even if it gets you nowhere, at least you can say you weren't the problem.

Let folks record from home, I can tell you without a shadow of a doubt I am not dropping my comfortable lifestyle to suffer in LA for "opportunities" I have recorded AAA's in my closet booth that is now a remote vocal STUDIO quality booth. Let folks record remotely :P.

@VoicesByZane I think people tend to go off looks before they think about "how they'd play the role.". Dwayne Johnson doesn't really like "compromising" his image for the characters he plays. It's just him with the characters name, barring a few select roles. I do wish he'd branch out.
