I always treated the Chinese Virus very seriously, and have done a very good job from the beginning, including my very early decision to close the “borders” from China - against the wishes of almost all. Many lives were saved. The Fake News new narrative is disgraceful & false!
I lost it. There was a white comedian
@TotallyAllen
repeatedly saying “chink” onstage and three comedians backstage telling me why it was OK. Fuck all of you!!
Dear non-Asian Americans, please do me a favor and imagine for a minute you're Asian, and feel how easy it is to be attacked verbally or physically by non-Asians around you if they want to.
Please help us fight racism against Asians.
Beijing tested EVERY delivery person, everyone in college, and everyone else who wants the test can do it. Hundreds of thousands of tests done everyday. And almost everyone wears a mask. There’re 3 new cases in Beijing, a city of more than 20 million people, in the past 24 hrs.
Thank you
@AndrewYang
for writing the AsAm political narrative on a daily bases. I will continue to fight for your cause and fair treatment, and to remind people that every AsAm’s support and contribution has to be earned and appreciated.
@JoeWongComedy
Hello Joe - I’m incredibly appreciative of everything you have done for me and my campaign! And I’m a huge fan of your work. Please do accept my gratitude and thanks. Much more work to do. 😀👍🙏
This article about Andrew Yang’s presidential bid reminds me of so many AsAm’s experiences at work place: we focus on the job and on finding a practical solution, some white coworkers focus on talking to people and networking. Guess who get promoted?
After Buttigieg’s awful explanation of the racial disparity in South Bend marijuana arrests during his mayoralty, Warren brought the focus to race-conscious policy, not just platitudes. That was not only welcome, but necessary. I wish more had joined her.
It’s time for AsAms to own some Asian jokes, especially when told by an Asian American. Yang’s jokes are pretty harmless and by taking issue with them, you may end up reenforcing the Asian stereotype of being up tight.
I'm an Asian American and you're the first AsAm to tell me to go back to China. I wonder which racist white guy did you learn that phrase from? Oh yeah Trump used it not too long ago. No. I'm staying here. Just to annoy rabid Trump supporters like you. Haha
Excited that
@andrewyang
will be on the next democratic presidential candidate debate! Also calling for
@CNN
@MSNBC
@foxnews
to have Asian American commentators!
When China was fighting the virus outbreak, South Korea sent China tons of medical equipment with notes of solidarity, now China is sending Korea material needed to fight the virus. The two countries don’t always get along, but crisis can bring out the best in people.
I just initiated a petition to add Asian American history in textbooks.
Having AsAm history in textbooks will go a long way towards accepting AsAms as Americans and reduce prejudice and racism.
Please sign, RT and ask your friends to sign. Thank you!
One of the reasons I became a US citizen back in 2008 was to vote for Obama. “Second coming of Barack” is a fitting moniker for Andrew Yang today.
#YangGang2020
is working hard in Iowa to make it happen.
What the fuck am I, a dictionary?! When you say racial slurs against Asian people, that’s racism. When you don’t have the guts to say the n word but say chinaman, or chink to prove you’re “funny” or “edgy”. When white ppl tell Asians what’s racism and offensive, that’s racism!
I'm a liberal by many standards, but I'm fed up with the likes of CNN and NBC consistently ignoring Asian American voices and shutting out Asian American candidate! Yang's opinions aren't incendiary enough for you?! People want solutions too!

I was bombarded by some YangGangers yesterday about my comments on his op-ed. He's calling AsAms, the ppl who work hard, abide the law, donate and volunteer, and are now being attacked, to show more American-ness. I think I have the right to be outraged.
There is a nationwide rebellion taking place in the United States against racist police murder, with demonstrators being tear-gassed and run over by police.
And this is today's front page of The New York Times:
#CoronavirusOutbreak
so far killed 230 people in China, a country of 1.4 billion people. There’s this tidal wave of fear, hate and racist jokes. Type B flu has killed more than 8000 Americans and is still going, few people talk about it. Perspective.
@KaitMarieox
You are putting words in his mouth. He was trying to say that the Supreme Court justice raped women but you cut him off. You have the mic he doesn’t. You are nothing but a little bulky trying to imitate Trump
The editorial board’s decision to back not one but two candidates is a significant break with convention, one meant to address the "realist" and "radical" models being presented to voters by the 2020 Democratic field, the editorial says.
I said years ago that a big part of being Asian Americans is NOT being considered Americans. It's still the case now. This has to change. The virus will go away but the perpetual foreign status and resulting racism won't.
Besides condemning racism now, we need to demand change.
These couple of days made me realize something. As a Chinese immigrant I used to think I got the double whammy of both racism and xenophobia compared to second or third generation AsAms. Now I know Asians born in the US suffer from xenophobia too.
I don’t mind the math or doctor jokes. I do hate it when people say Asians are overachievers. Maybe at school some times, but AsAms have yet to achieve so many things: Supreme Court justices, top artists, presidents, etc.
We are in the biggest crisis since 911 and Trump has put a Chinese face on it. Asians are being yelled at, spit on, and even assaulted every day in America. Please let your voice be heard and stand up for Asians. Thank you!
#StandUpForAsians
I can’t sit around making smarmy wise ass remarks after witnessing and enduring years of racism and violence, especially now, agains asian. NOT ENOUGH PEOPLE calling out racism! It’s exhausting like hell but I have to call it out, again and again.
@JoeWongComedy
Joe, perhaps it would be better if you used your unique position to be a bridge between China and America, and offer unique insights on our current situation, rather than just screaming "RACIST" all the time, which serves no one.
Though Trump still refers Asian Americans as “they” vs other Americans as “us” in this statement, which perpetuates the foreign status of AsAms, it is a positive step towards protecting AsAms at the moment. Standing up and being vocal does promote progress.

My American dream:
Biden wins the election
Trump refuses to accept election results
Military removes Trump from office
Trump is in jail without a cell phone
The US got the most COVID19 deaths in the world with POC having higher death rate than whites. 40 million ppl lost their jobs but the rich got $400 billion richer. Asians and blacks are brutalized on a daily basis but the prez supports white supremacy. America needs a revolution.
He’s not the first comedian I saw using Asian slurs onstage. Had an argument with
@garygulman
about it years ago. Can’t have these individual battles anymore. Too exhausting. I’m taking this out in the open so we can all be clear about this: it’s NOT OK to use Asian slurs. RT

2019: Fresh off the boat's on TV, Andrew yang’s running for president, people think I’m crazy rich
2020: Fresh off boat got canceled, Andrew Yang dropped out, and people think I have coronavirus
It’s been hard to do live comedy during the pandemic, so I wrote an eBook Not This Shit Again! A Comedian’s Guide to Tackling Anti-Asian Racism. It’s got jokes, personal stories and some lessons learned. Available on Amazon. Some reading required.
Asians are only 5% of the population in America. We are a very small minority and we are the target now. Everyone has to speak up and act up. Report, fight back, and support each other!
I’m doing a Stop The Hate rally against recent wave of
#Coronavirus
related racism. It’ll be tomorrow 8pm PST on Instagram Live, handle is JoeWongComedy. More details to come!
