It was a pleasure to present @ IWAF yesterday and be face to face with many of our leading fire scientists, researchers & practitioners. To be effective we must unify efforts on action and implementation of climate adoption principles and policies into our operating models.

Our national Large Air Tanker landed today, carrying 15,000L of retardant, it's a real boost to our national aerial firefighting capability. This is a result of the Government investing $30mil each year to ensure availability of efficient aerial firefighting resources. @AFACnews

The Bureau has confirmed that #LaNiña has formed in the tropical Pacific, with climate models suggesting it's likely to remain until at least the end of 2020. Read more in our Climate Driver Update: https://t.co/MKYnElWVUW #ENSO

Firefighters continue to make the most of benign conditions to contain 75 bush fires, of which 25 are still to be contained. Rain continues to fall across a number of firegrounds, however the Far South Coast and along the border are still yet to receive any moisture. #nswrfs

Dry & gusty winds ahead of a trough & cold front will bring dangerous #fire weather conditions to fire-affected areas of #NSW & #Qld from tomorrow. A change in wind direction can rapidly alter the course of fires & broaden fire fronts. Stay up to date at: https://t.co/d1Gl7t7n8p
