well see what was holding back JRPGs was one of those letters
Sandfall are good people but it's infuriating how a non-Japanese studio can make a pretty typical, derivative (compliment) JRPG doing nothing different besides having realistic UE5 visuals and a couple Hollywood actors and get praised as redefining the video game medium

To make matters worse, there were about 3 collective total minutes of interesting game trailers across the entire show's runtime. The whole point of this "Award Show" is to be a commercial for upcoming games and they can't even do that right!

I know it feels like we say this every year but this Game Awards might have been the worst one yet. KKKlair ObSScur Colonization 88 winning Best Story over Silent Hill F AND winning Best Art Direction over Silksong and Hades 2 is an actual insult.

It's also fascinating how the FNAF fans seem to interpret the series as historical accounts featuring real people, as opposed to a story with fictional characters. There is no room for subtext or themes or interpretation, only raw facts and "lore".

five nights at freddys is a fascinating cultural phenomenon because the first game does cleverly hint at something sinister behind the haunting, but then the fandom shifted from adults to grade schoolers and the storyline had to very quickly pivot away from CSA implications

Real smart minds in the comments not being able to comprehend that a lot of people, when coming across a fictional older male serial killer who only targets children, are going to assume that murder is not the only crime he is committing against them
