Picked up what looked like a dead Goldcrest lying upside down after a car sped past in Easington road, Kilnsea. It still felt warm so after 1/2 hr keeping it warm and stimulated thankfully it recovered, we stayed with it after this clip and it recovered well. Please slow down!

I found what I thought was a dead bee submerged in my pond today. I lifted him out and he laid lifeless & soaked After gently blowing on him for ages he started moving & I put droplet of sugar water on stone which he eventually drank, then this! 😍 (he flew away shortly after)

On a nature reserve and just has to shout at a woman for filming her collie dog ‘rounding up ducks into middle of a small pond, over and over it circled these ducks, they were squawking and panicking, eventually they flew but WTAF is wrong with ppl. Ban dogs from nature reserves!

I wrote to the manager of the company which looks after the green areas of our development & told him about the Brown Argus butterflies I’d found in the wild area & asked if he’d delay cutting in case there are still eggs and caterpillars from this brood - success! Worth asking

Interesting you use a butterfly to emphasise your point. One of my concerns about this plastic carpet under an ancient hedge is moths & butterflies will have laid eggs on leaves which pupate and crawl underground in that soil to overwinter They’ll now die, more biodiversity loss

I’d say it’s very important as it’s on the edge of the Dawlish Countryside park, home to at least 14 breeding pairs of rare Cirl Buntings, hedgerows here are invaluable to these birds who last year expanded their territory onto the development

4 wks ago my Mum fell again, this time breaking her neck & nose. 3 wks in hosp, now a lovely nursing home, several times I thought I was losing her. The Alpine Swifts arrived on my doorstep like angels lifting me from a bad place and today Mum was dramatically better

Yes I agree, I can understand some people aren’t always able to cut grass (my Mum is now in that category) but getting used to letting grass grow isn’t so difficult and we have a biodiversity crisis so some things have to change, this is a fairly easy one

That’s the 2nd Blackbird lost in a week to neighbour’s cat - sick of them I am, the wildlife in my garden means as much to me as peoples’ pets do to them, yet they let their pets invade my garden as though it doesn’t matter. I’m distraught😢 Keep pets in your own gardens please
