Some Orthodox have high regard for him, some don't. BTW many Orthodox have a lot of respect for other RCC figures. Savonarola and Fulton Sheen come to mind.

But one can still admire someone's character & efforts to promote truth & virtue according to the light they'd been given. I'd say the same about Lutheran pastor Richard Wurmbrand, a heroic witness for Christ in communist Romania.

@FiatLuxGenesis Many Orthodox have high respect for non-Orthodox who nonetheless displayed a true love of Christ & simple, sincere Christianity. C.S. Lewis & Savonarola come readily to mind. So does Fulton Sheen. May his memory be eternal!
