Today sickens me. I’ve watched a camera crew pushed and spit on in BC And now a Calgary colleague standing on a sidewalk screamed at, called a whore, for taking video or a protest.
Driving a maze of prairie highways through central Saskatchewan I’m thinking of the time and commitment these young men and their families gave the sport. So many kilometres travelled . So many years doing it. So sad.

Until the April 6th crash I’d never been to Humboldt.I’m heading there today for the fourth time. Each visit has felt a little lighter.A little less sad. Today, as the Broncos play their home opener there will be many emotions. A new team to celebrate, and a former team to honour.
Today is my daughter’s 10th birthday. Her gift hasn’t arrived yet. There are no balloons. But we have cake and we are all home and healthy. She seems to understand, right now, that’s most important.

In fairness, this was not my own experience in Winnipeg today. I was in the protest on Memorial to meet an organizer. People questioned why I was there, but did not threaten me. I did not feel unsafe.
