My New Years Resolution for 2026 is to throw more house parties. More fun events. Themes. Games nights. Dinners with friends. Rooftop bars. Punting in the summer. Drunken nights in with loved ones. Fireplaces. Try new things. Celebrate birthdays, milestones, the mundane, whatever

Understanding means nothing. I can explain God to you for a thousand years and you'll still be exactly as lost as when we started. But do one righteous thing - one - and suddenly you know more than every theologian who ever lived. The highest truth doesn't live in books or

Immense planning and technical precision was required for this absolutely preposterous (but real) view: I captured my friend @BlackGryph0n transiting the sun during a skydive. This might be the first photo of it's kind in existence. See a video of this moment in the reply 👇

I think the average person reading this (who mostly have basics covered) would get more happiness from 3hrs a week learning to strengthen their happiness circuits directly than they would from having a billion dollars and hoping it will indirectly up happiness

Met a friendly dude hiking up Mt Si at the same time as me late in the afternoon. We ended up chatting and hiking the whole way together and at the top we saw mountain goats and took pictures for each other. This one he snapped without me knowing and send it to me later 🙃

at almost every threshold there are a bunch of people who set up a basecamp where they discuss how to cross the threshold. some of those people do go on to cross the threshold, but those people tend to then become incomprehensible to most of those who are still in basecamp

My friend @soundrotator told me about a fractal conception of god that goes like this: Imagine you are like a kidney cell amongst kidney cells. You simply *cannot* understand the emergent agency that you are a part of – aka a Person. No amount of philosophizing is going to help

"Share your happiness with the world." Duh, right? That's some basic b***h stuff. But recently a Buddhist nun said this to me in this sort of knowing way and it's been changing my life I realized that I am often not only hiding my happiness but actively turning it down. I'm

Maturity is the proxy for competence that adults, who haven’t learned to play well with others, teach their kids.

People who identify as “highly sensitive” tend to be chronically indecisive, bc they understand that any small inconvenience in the future could make them feel uncomfortable (as they’re highly sensitive), hence they try to overanalyse every possible outcome until they find one
