My wife is going thru a rough time post-op. Surgeon is going back in this afternoon to try and find source of internal bleeding. If you could spare a few minutes in your day today, please say a prayer for her. Thank you.
I'm excited & humbled to be named Director of Public Relations for John Force Racing
@JFR_Racing
. This is like working for the New York Yankees of drag racing, the best of the best. JFR is a true family & I look forward to doing some really great things.
I'm so grateful for all the prayers for Cyndee and outpouring of love&concern. Thank you all so much. She had procedure Friday PM, they found the cause of the internal bleed and repaired it & had blood transfusion for all she lost. She is doing much better. Thank you everyone!
Very pleased to announce I’ve joined as a regular contributor. My first story, which published today, is on

Man I feel like I just got punched in the gut. My best friend in HS and college has Stage 4 cancer and his time is limited. He’s one of the best men I’ve ever known. We were like brothers (we don’t have real brothers). Praying 🙏 for a miracle for Glenn. Terrible news.
2020 has started off in a very bad way. We knew our beloved bulldog Daisy’s time left on this Earth was measured in days. That time came to an end this morning as she passed peacefully on her own terms. Best dog I will ever have. RIP my best friend.
I just lost my best friend tonight. Most likely a stroke. We rescued Murray — named after
#BillMurray
— almost 4 years ago & he was the absolute best dog I’ve ever had. He was my shadow. Everywhere I went, he went. RIP Murray. I will miss you so very much.
Have very heavy heart tonite. My best friend for 45 years has passed away. Way too young at only 61 years old. Cancer. Thx to those who prayed for him after my prior post on Sunday. It looked like he might improve, but quickly took a turn for the worse and was gone.
#CancerSucks
Well I’ve gone thru more than 40 Valentines Days with my girlfriend/wife, but none was ever as emotional and joyous as today. My daughter Heather and son in law Steve just gave us the greatest news: my wife and I will be grandparents later this year and it will be a boy!
What a MAJOR gut punch to wake up to. Legendary drag racer &
@NHRA
team owner
#DonSchumacher
passed away last night after a battle with cancer. He was 79. A legacy of 100s of wins, multiple championships & one of the nicest guys in the sport. My sympathies to his family. RIP Don.
Sherry Pollex, a fixture in the NASCAR garage who championed childhood cancer research and treatment and whose fight against ovarian cancer over the last nine years served as an inspiration to many, has died at age 44. RIP, Sherry. Family statement:
One of my favorite pix of all time. Christmas 2009 with my best buddy Daisy. Sadly, it looks like we will have to say goodbye in the coming days. She has brought me such great joy but body&age have caught up with her. I am going to be brokenhearted like I’ve never been with a pet
The countdown has begun. In about seven days my wife and I will have new titles, courtesy of daughter Heather and son-in-law Steve. While we are both very excited, I’m still not sure how I want to be addressed: Grandpa, Pop Pop, Pee Paw or what. Any other suggestions?
One of the nicest men I’ve ever met,
#JohnAndretti
, has lost his courageous battle with cancer. He was the epitome of what a race car driver should be personality-wise. Always seemingly with a smile on his face. He will be greatly missed. Way too young to leave us at 56. RIP John
Really brokenhearted. We lost Greta, our nine year old female German Shepherd, this morn to cancer. Zeus2 and Daisy are both very upset. They were all such great buddies. There is definitely a void left here in our home. Greta is pictured here on the right with Zeus2. RIP Greta.
This is the best story I’ve read in years. It will make you smile and cry at the same time. Congrats to

THANK YOU to everyone for your ever-so-kind words on the passing of my beloved Murray. The last few days have been a blur. Everywhere I look, I still see him. Nearly 9,000 of you read my post & nearly 500 sent msgs of love & concern. I will thank each of you in the coming days.
One year ago today, this dude came into our life. It’s virtually unheard of an Old English Bulldog to be a rescue, but we were in the right place and have given him a loving home. Happy anniversary to Murray (he’s named after comedian Bill Murray)!
Happy Thanksgiving to all my loyal readers, friends & family. I don't like to discuss what happened to me this summer but I'm VERY thankful to the great doctors who saved my life or I may not be here today. I still have grandkids to watch grow & plenty of stories still to write!
I promised some major personal news. Hardest thing I’ve ever done. Still have some work to do but I can’t believe the change. Hopefully it inspires others. Here it is.

Just got misty eyed and choked up. They just had a commemorative ceremony at Midway Airport at the time the first plane hit the World Trade Center. The while airport came to a halt as they sang the National Anthem. Very moving and emotional.
I’ve now lost 2 friends who were waiting for donor organs,
#WalterPayton
(liver) and now
@sambassartist
(kidney). Since Walter passed in 1999, I’ve been registered to be an organ donor. More people should be. Like cash, you can’t take it with you. Give to those who need them.
Merry Christmas to all my friends, family and loyal readers. I hope you have a safe holiday and that Santa was good to all of you and we all have a much better year in 2024. My wife and I got a GREAT gift from our oldest daughter and son-in-law: they revealed they will have our
40 years ago today I had my last first date. We saw "Oh God" with George Burns and John Denver. We agreed to see "how it goes". And here we are today. It's apparently gone pretty well, I guess. Time has absolutely flown. Happy 1st date anniversary, Cyndee.
My condolences to Chani and Jimmie Johnson due to such a horrific tragedy. It brings back terrible memories of another famous racer who lost his father and stepmother several years ago in a similar fashion. I won’t mention his name out of respect to him and his family.
If there's 1 thing I learned Fri., in addition to all the messages&well wishes from all of you, is prayers are definitely heard by the big guy upstairs. This definitely shows the power of prayer. Thanks again to all of you. If I can return the prayer favor, I most definitely will
Feeling very sad. Just a few months after losing our beloved German Shepherd, Greta, one of our cats, Roxy, has crossed the Rainbow bridge. She was 15 years old. Now you can play with all your old buddies in Heaven and you won’t have any more pain. RIP Rox Rox.
I’ve been swamped with my new role
@JFR_Racing
. I love the job & everyone I work with. But I also apologize to all who sent good wishes when I made the announcement here. I meant to reply to all but I’ve been going non-stop. So THANK YOU to everyone for your kind words & wishes!
I’m a little late to the party here but I wish everyone a MUCH BETTER 2021. I have faced some big challenges since July but hope to rebound in the next few months both personally and professionally. Thank you to all who follow me. Your friendship and support keep me going.
Uh dad, you see, I kinda went crazy with my big ball in the backyard. And, uh dad, you remember how the yard gets kind of muddy when it really rains hard? Well, uh dad, I guess I got a lot muddier than I thought. But what can I say? I love to play with that ball! Sorry, Murray🐶
So sad to hear of the passing of motorsports journalism legend
#robinmiller
, who left us today at the age of 71. Awesome writer and storyteller. We’ve lost 2 icons in just a couple of weeks, first
#bobjenkins
and now Robin. Rest In Peace my friend.
Such sad news to awake to this morning: the passing of racing broadcasting legend
#KenSquier
at the age of 88. There should be a photo of him in the dictionary next to the word “Classy.” There are a lot of media today who could take a lesson in humility and professionalism from
We lost
#BobJenkins
today. One of the best announcers in motorsports. His booming voice & controlled enthusiasm behind a mic made the listener or viewer feel they were right there in the booth with him. He’s now with his beloved wife. Rest in peace, Bob. You left us way too soon.
Happy Thanksgiving to everyone, especially long-time readers. I'm very grateful and humbled that you have read my work for all these years. I consider all of you friends. I hope everyone has a great and safe day ... and save some stuffing and lots of gravy for me LOL
@sambassartist
Absolutely stunned to hear this very sad news. Sam was everything that is right about NASCAR. Great and friendly personality, always with a positive outlook and such an intelligent man. This is a real punch to the gut. He will be missed greatly. RIP Sam.
I am so worried about the weather here the next two days. Could be the coldest day ever in Chicago history. And wind chills as low as minus-60! I hope and pray our furnace keeps working and our pipes don't freeze. And that the car starts.
