So special was the bond created by the cast and crew of Lord of the Rings that even actors who did not share a single scene together nevertheless formed a connection that decades later still produced this sort of response. The production of The Lord of the Rings was special.
This is deeply moving. The bond from the films were so deep. Life is so much about WHO you get to do it with.

@TruthinArtwork I felt this a couple of times while I traveled through the region last autumn. One night in particular, alone in a cabin in the mountains on the border of North Carolina and Tennessee. Appalachia feels older than most places.

@amerix You want to know the number of clients I see whose mental health issues are caused by having a father who loves them?: zero. The number caused by having a cold, distant, some might say unattached fathers: ~80% of my caseload.

@rawsalerts Imagine thinking that you are oppressed when you are able to openly disagree with your employer, be in dereliction of duty, still draw a paycheck and incur no repercussions - and in fact be *encouraged and supported* by your employer while doing all of this.

@DeanAbbott In the immortal words of former Ohio State QB Cardale Jones, "Why should we have to go to class if we came here to play football? We ain't come to play school. Classes are pointless.". He was roasted for this, but there is a lot of reason to the sentiment.

@Boomieleaks @jordanbpeterson And if/when Spotify caves to pressure and drops him, he will go back to being everywhere, or will start his own podcast host/network. Rogan is not cancelable. Like Chapelle, to be cancelled you have to care more about what others think of you, than your own integrity.

@PrimeVideo Quite literally none of that matches Galadriel as Tolkien wrote her. On a quest for revenge? She served and studied under Melian, who always urged Thingol to practice restraint.

@TolkienWonder You will never convince me that any movie or series has produced so much love and compassion amongst the cast and crew as The Lord of the Rings. Truly a fellowship.

@Variety "Politics are killing people." And the answer is to be *more* political? This is akin to saying, "Heroin is killing people, so we need to all do heroin.".

@big_business_ What shocked me the most about Chalamet’s performance was his voice. He is so soft spoken, but when he needs to he can absolutely roar. You look at the dude and would not expect that ferocity to be in there. He proved he is more than a pretty face and excellent hair.

@EricRWeinstein Math time: of the 39 listed R guests, 11 openly identify at the least as being L-leaning centrists (28%). Remove them to the L, and the R list becomes 28 names, and the L becomes 24. This makes the R/L split 52%/48% - almost the smallest possible majority. The bias is a lie.

@MiddleearthMixr The “look what was taken from us” thing is trite and overused but here it is 100% appropriate. This was done without public consent, and we have lost so much - though seemingly little by the cynics - as a result.

@Mr_Red18k @spideyupdated That is what I’m trying to figure out. Wouldn’t Strange have just been fighting a drone projecting an illusion? Kind of undermines his abilities as the sorcerer Supreme.

@mariashriver "Women have long been viewed as a threat in the Catholic Church. They are viewed as a threat.". No parish anywhere in the world is without several statues venerating The Virgin Mary, Theotokos, the Mother of God. But sure, it's Catholics that view women as a threat.

@DeclouxJ I remember the day I heard John Candy died. I was only 5 or 6, old enough to read and understand the headline. I turned to ask my mom how they were going to squeeze him into his coffin. It was, perhaps, not the most respectful comment on a beloved movie star's death.

@coldxman "In our commitment to abolition, we can never believe police. " They give away the game in the first sentence of the 2nd paragraph. Doesn't matter the truth - they can never believe police. This immediately puts them in league with a lot of really bad things.

@mariashriver We have tenfeast days venerating the Virgin Mary. The entire months of May and October are dedicated to Mary. Approximately 21% of our saints are women. A not so careful reading of Scripture shows that women play an integral role in our religion.
