Super excited to announce the final chapter of my dissertation is out in @SciReports! We used iSSF’s to show that Sierra Nevada bighorn sheep move up and downhill during spring #migration to avoid heat stress and storms. #openaccess:

@SciReports Lots of #phenology content to be gleaned as well! Snowfall in the Sierra is super variable from year to year, and this leads to incredible interannual variation in both green-up timing and migration timing.

@SciReports These #endangered ungulates select snow-free destinations that are at their peak rate of plant growth. Because they depend on cliffy habitat that keeps predators at bay (especially females that are rearing lambs), some animals are more flexible with weather stressors than others.

Really nice piece on holistic review from NPR. It's growing in grad admissions too! Getting folks on board can be tough, but holistic review gets more popular by the year. Context is intuitive: a hot day in August is different from a hot day in January!
