🚨NEW PREPRINT🚨. Happy to share my PhD work:. Spatial information was consistently represented across tasks in a low-dimensional subspace of PFC activity, while task identity was encoded in an orthogonal subspace, providing a stable and independent representation of context.

Moving beyond the population doctrine, we suggest that not only a group of cells but also other spatial scales may exhibit novel features not directly expected from smaller scales.

1. Prior expectations enhance behavioral performance by sharpening MT population tuning. 2. Neural signals of prior expectation are present in the neural subspace of MT population activity. 3. MT integrates sensory inputs and prior knowledge based on the reliability of each.

Excited to share my first first-author preprint, with Seolmin Kim, @HyungGoo_Kim, and my mentor @JoonyeolL. We characterized the neural signature of prior expectations in the sensory cortex. Three main takeaways in 🧵.
