Hey, we know her! @Harshita17_ spotted this photo of @JensinaDavis participating in last year's Plant & Animal Genome mentoring program. Still a chance to sign up for this year's program (and catch up with us in San Diego in January).

Sounds like @JensinaDavis, @Harshita17_ & @Sofiya_arora did outstanding jobs yesterday at the @UNL_PSI Plant Science Symposium. Hate being out of town but really proud of how well they did!

It wouldn't be a conference in the midwest in summer without at least one tornado warning and evacuation of the whole audience the conference shelter.

And here's a link to the paper. This was a huge dataset that only exists because of the hard work of so many lab members and collaborators. https://t.co/jOoJx9sAEg

Protecting against downside risk doesn’t have to come at the expense of continued increases in the yield potential. No evidence of a tradeoff between yield stability and maximum yield in an analysis of hybrid performance across 34 environments. New pub led by @JensinaDavis.

Corn genetics labs thrive when graduate students invest their time in a nursery that will support experiments long after they've graduated and moved on to bigger and better things. Thank you @WaqarAli325 @JensinaDavis @Harshita17_ @Sofiya_arora!

Of course not only PhD students @Sofiya_arora a co mentored MS student who is understanding the downstream consequences of natural cis regulatory gene expression variation. And @caneryz visiting scholar making better maize tissue culture, also with natural genetic variation.

The biggest impact I'll ever have as a professor is the people I help to train. Felt wonderful to see so many current trainees and lab alumni together in one place this past weekend.

in our population, GxE interactions that would likely change selection decisions depending on the environments used for selection were rare, & unlike overall linear plasticity, plasticity in response to nitrogen fertilization was poorly repeatable w/in & across location-years 5/6

In our population of 122 maize hybrids with mean parent release years as early as 1934 -- current commercial hybrids, we saw no clear tradeoff between linear plasticity and overall performance. We also show that 4/6
