Beach peanut (Okenia hypogaea). They don’t make them any cuter than this. Super-sticky leaves accrete sand, and roots (even the lil peanuts) run deep. One of my favorites. #dunebuilder #resilience #coastal #beachlife #nyctaginaceae

Heading home to Miami after a great week in #PuertoRico w/ awesome #fern #conservation collaborators Lindsey, Jose, Octavio, Coralys & Omar. We monitored wild plants, did pilot plantings w/ rare ferns, retrieved envtl data, collected spores for #exsitu and had a lot of fun!

That’s me!! What a fantastic piece of natural Florida that has been preserved on this property. It was fern heaven!
Attention #pteridologists! DERM visited a property with an #EnvironmentallyEndanferedLands covenant & found 12 new subpopulations of Fla Bristle fern w/@FairchildGarden. The endangered plant is only in 2 places in the 🌎 & close to extinction! Previously thought to be only in EEL
