Remember when Nashville OEM spent $1M for 200 pods in 2021 which are STILL in storage? JUST learned from a friend that works in Metro that palates of generators - roughly 125 - donated by @TractorSupply were withheld for days by OEM Director Swann and the Mayor.

Please share this — Nashville is being overlooked. Day 9 for some with no electricity, water, or gas. Burst pipes. Damaged homes. Families stuck. Outside help refused. National Guard wellness checks declined. Shelter info pushed by phone & TV while people can’t power either.

If Congress doesn’t act, the last nuclear arms control treaty between the U.S. and Russia will expire. It would pointlessly wipe out decades of diplomacy, and could spark another arms race that makes the world less safe. This piece is worth the read.

Because Nashville is surrounded by other utilities that had the same weather disaster but all handled it far better, we have a control group. No, it wasn't the weather - it was the pure incompetence. Both the tree trimming preventative maintenance, and the operational response 1/
