The better the relationship you have with an athlete, the harder you can coach them. People don't care how much you know until they know how much you care.

You can answer #4 by having your child talk with the coach about the issue. 95% of the time the athlete knows the answer and doesn't want to disappoint the parent by telling them the truth.

Advice to youth sports parents:.– Teach your kids to love competition.– Teach them how to work hard.– Puberty changes everything.– Never take specialization advice from someone making money off it.
