Biden's approval ratings are going in the wrong direction since last year. The Hill (below) has him at 39.6% approval, while RCP has him at 39.1%. You can see the trendline has been consistent. No President has been re-elected with less than 50%. Six months left to change this.

It’s also important to know that in 2016, there was a 1.2 point bias toward Democrats. In 2020, the bias increased to 4.5 points. So whatever lead Trump currently has in the polls, add 1-5 points for the polling bias. He’s actually more in the lead than anyone realizes.
