It's similar to sword-fighting on stage and in movies. On stage, they're dramatic and fun, but if you read accounts of actual historic sword fights, they tended to be nasty, brutish and short, most of them over in less than a minute.

It's sort of sad, because professional wrestlers are real athletes, actual physical specimens, and many are great actors. The plots and action are operatic. It's pure entertainment, but the fighting was "fake" and that couldn't stand up to scrutiny when UFC came along.

Professional wrestling has collapsed in the past 20 years because of mixed martial arts. The UFC highlighted the fakeness of pro wrestling. Everyone now knows what a real fight looks like. Before, you knew WWE was fake, but you played along because it was cinematic. Now you can't.

All of the able body children of Kiryas Joel are enrolled in private schools, the only children in the public schools (about 200) are special needs children. NY state law mandates that such children be educated at public expense.

Interdasting. Ofcom is the Yookay's Office of Communication which is attempting to shut down online dissent by ending anonymity and "protecting" minors with something called the "Online Safety Act" which has just gone into effect.
Ofcom has been sending several American clients pretty stupid letters over the last six months. Pinged the White House about it this morning. Got a callback 20 minutes later asking for recommendations for visa bans. What a time to be alive.
