I meanā¦sheās right about this though lol.
She feels that casting a wide net and entertaining/getting to know as many people as possible regardless of physical attraction will open me up to more peopleās personalities and behaviors and teach me more about what I do and donāt want. And I get it, but no.

I donāt think this is most peopleās problem but there are def some heterosexual people in particular who seem to only be attracted to the same boy/girl they were chasing in high school and yeah, youāre not gonna make it if thatās still where you are š.

I think the better advice is to do the internal work to figure out how to broaden what ur attracted to physically. But idk how to go about that, like it just happened for me. Because yeah, if ur only going after 1 or few physical types, skin color, height, etc. as a grown adultā¦.
In an effort to get me to unlearn dating as Iāve known it, my therapist is encouraging me to date and get to know people I donāt necessarily find physically attractive. And every time she suggests this, the craziest thing happens, my ears stop working.

The beautiful gowns of film twitter. Great three minute scenes but then you have to contend with all the actors thinking theyāre in a different style of movie/basically no one giving a good performance and the 2020s story updates which expose how empty this thing is.
West Side Story (2021) is truly brilliant. Spielberg brought every note, movement, and emotion to life with unmistakable energy and precision.

Related to this thread, Iām always skeptical of people who declare that āPalestinians saidā, āBlack people saidā, etc. etc. in these moments, as though there is no room for different interpretations among politically minded people who all want the same or similar things.
