I hope all Essendon fans are now starting to appreciate McGrath’s value. VC and clearly a big part in standards. Had been fantastic this season and his biggest knock, his kicking is significantly improved. I thought he was best on ground yesterday.

Tradiing for Duursma has been brilliant. Two way running is really evident in last quarters with his defensive support and tackling. Been exactly what we need. Won’t get cheap touches. Secondary but significant benefit is allowing Durham to move into midfield.

Coleman, 98 games 500+ goals, finished at 25, dead at 44 😓 my dad is 91, lifelong Carlton man, yet I grew up with stories about how good John Coleman was. By far the best footballer he ever saw and would go watch him even though he followed Carlton.

McGrath has polled coaches votes in 10 out of a possible 13 games this season and in the best players in all 13. No complaints he was our pick at number one. Club has slowly progressed him into an inside midfielder. Incredibly consistent and will be captain before too long

It’s the closest thing that we have to a neutral venue. I would argue playing the GF at Optus Stadium is a far bigger advantage than playing at the MCG. There hasn’t been a shortage of interstate teams winning the GF over the last 20 years.
