Haven't been on here for a while, but thought I'd mention that I have a new book coming out on September 29. Latter-day Sikh is a biography of my grandpa, Gurcharan Singh Gill, and the two faiths that shaped him.

The Iliad and the Odyssey never call anything blue, because few ancient languages had such a word. I wrote an essay about that, and about Jay Bell: https://t.co/I0WlHvfXYC

Saw that late-night shows are pausing production because of the writers' strike. I think it would be better if they kept filming and just made really bad episodes for a while. Meandering, unfunny, hard-to-watch TV that made us collectively beg for mercy.

I did not realize that Levi Peterson started writing when he was 42 and published his first novel at 53.
I wrote a short piece about Levi S. Peterson, one of the best Mormon authors of fiction, in honor of his 90th birth year. It is intended to introduce his key works (focusing on those available in print, like The Backslider) to a younger generation.

I really love this story. Excited for the rest of the year with @BeeJeanine as Wayfare's fiction editor offering us different ways to see the world.

The short story "The Gift" by @RdelaLanza is out on @wayfarewriting. Pairs quiet dignity with quiet anguish. https://t.co/1UUmnELZER

Just heard: “I don’t think I’m getting more sentimental as I age. I think they’re just getting better at writing Febreeze commercials.”

For several years now we’ve been running Mormon Lit Lab contests and it’s been a wonderful generative thing for Mormon literature, but it’s been kind of hard to navigate our web presence and see what we’re up to…

I love that it’s by the Bible. Poetry and scripture pair well.

I changed my spell check to help me with Spanish and haven't changed it back yet, so all my words are underlined in red and I kinda like it.

It’s lovely that people are still finding this book.
This is the most beautiful book I have read for a very long time. I especially appreciated his take on the Mary/Martha story. @JamesGoldberg

Just read @lizzieheiselt's essay in Wayfare about parenting and the Book of Mormon idea of standing as a witness. Really interesting thoughts.
