If you're feeling like #Christmas is a lot of unseen work by the woman of the house, then Mrs. Santa Claus is entirely on your side, even as written by the 19th century magazine writers who created her. https://t.co/KSpX06hwmn

Religiously speaking, the woman behind the man behind Christmas is definitely Mary, and I’ve already done two episodes on the Historical Mary. Check out episodes 5.1 and 5.2, plus a bonus episode a…

No other female portrait artist had the notoriety or esteemed clientele that Amalia Kussner did. Although photography was on the rise during the late 1800s, miniatures had a feeling and soul to them...

However, I think Nevada might like a word about the articles' use of largest female legislative majority.

Some election news I will comment on! My home state has a female governor, 3 women out of 5 state supreme justices, and 54% female legislators. In a healthy system, balances like that will sometimes happen. Good to see women in those roles being normalized.
Women have won 60 seats in the New Mexico Legislature to secure the largest female legislative majority in U.S. history. https://t.co/yqcm6q0Cen

Why spend all day fretting about today's election when you could spend 15 minutes of it reading/listening about elections that are safely over and the world did not end? (direct link in the bio and 1st comment)

To that woman who thinks life would be better as a historical farmwife: please read The First Four Years by Laura Ingalls Wilder. You'll see isolation, depression, debt+inability to earn, house burning down, failed harvests, etc. The cover looks cute, but the life was hard.

Over the past 13 episodes, women squeezed, bound, crushed, tweezed, poisoned, pricked, & stretched various portions of their anatomy, sometimes with permanent ramifications, sometimes with excruciating agony, all in the name of beauty. I'm wrapping up the series with: WHY?

One of the later items I remember was something like: she was there all along, and when her husband died she somehow knew how to run the business entirely by herself, but that doesn't mean she was a partner all along. It got more and more ridiculous.

Help me find a lost tweet! It's a list on how to write women out of history: 1 she wasn't there, 2 she was there but she didn't do anything, etc. Does anyone know where that list came from? @damesnet @SheDidWhatPGH @Queens_Podcast @LibraryLydia @WhatsHerNamePC @HerstoricalMnts

Happy anniversary to Equal Credit Opportunity Act! It is truly crazy how recently women gained the right to financial independence. My episode 3.4 tells the long sorry history of women and credit.

Two more days to vote (in my election), folks! I'm afraid the current polls are NOT neck and neck, but there's still time for an upset if you head to my website.
