This is indeed the best argument against Zcash imo (most other historical issues have been resolved or attenuated). The counter is that usable strong privacy is both very hard to do, & important. So you want a chain, stack, community, etc, that is 100% focused on just that. TBD
Zecash can lose its moat quite easily. Eg. Privacy primitives on eth, sol, etc.
