Congratulations to Judd McDougall (Year 11), who is one of the youngest ever players to make his debut for Perth Glory as a defender. He made his professional debut in a FFA Cup playoff match against Melbourne Victory on 24 November 2021.

Our Year 7 students were warmly welcomed into their first secondary assembly for 2019 with our Year 12 students forming a spirit tunnel as they entered the gym.

A number of Years 11 & 12 students are learning through ViSN, CEWA’s online learning network. As part of the program, Year 11 students studying ATAR Psychology attended the ViSN Camp where they had the opportunity to meet their teacher & classmates from schools across WA.
Congratulations to both Karri Buchanan in Year 10 and Holly Buchanan in Year 12 who competed in the WA State Track Championships that ran for three days at the Midland Velodrome. Both Karri and Holly achieved a bronze podium finish, in their respective races.
We congratulate Mr Robert Henderson on his new appointment as Aquinas College Principal to commence in January 2023. We take this opportunity to thank Rob for his commitment & leadership. Rob is an Old Aquinian so is moving back to where it all started for him & his family.

Students from JTC are performing in the Catholic Performing Arts Festival, which sees over 20,000 students from 158 WA Catholic schools taking part in various categories including instrumental & choral performances. Primary piano students performed at Aquinas College this week.
A special time for prayer & for witnessing through practical solidarity & awareness, our responsibility to care for one another. This extraordinary time provides space for acts of generosity & expressions of gratitude especially to those in the front line caring for the sick.

The JTC Robotics team competed at the First Lego League National Championship – West at Curtin University. The team was awarded 2nd place in - Innovation Project Award out of 48 teams. Their project focused on creating a Pokemon app to entice children to conserve energy.
This weekend the JTC Robotics Team took 2nd Place Overall Champion at the Regional First Lego League Competition at St Stephen’s. The boys designed and engineered a robot & an app to assist in energy transformation. They will now go to compete in the National Championship

Congratulations to James Green, Year 12, for winning the ‘Speak for Faith’ competition organised by WA’s Catenian Association and the Catholic Education WA. The competition asks students to publicly speak on Christian ethics and Catholic values.
John XXIII students performed extremely well at the Quest Gifted & Talented Competition at the UWA. One of our Year 8 teams came second overall out of 13 colleges competing, and second in science. The second Year 8 team finished second in mathematics. Congratulations!
31 Year 11 students & 4 staff members are on their pilgrimage of self-discovery, reflection & prayer. This invaluable experience to the Northern Territory develops links with communities & provides an opportunity for the pilgrims to deepen their awareness of God, self & others.
