(1/2) Every worker has the right to join a union. Amazon workers in Delta recently unionized with Unifor for better working conditions, benefits and pay. Premier @Dave_Eby and I had the opportunity to sit down with these workers and it was great to hear their stories.

Forestry workers built this province. Today, as they face unprecedented attacks from Donald Trump, we stand united with workers and industry leaders. We are calling on Ottawa to deliver the support they committed to the forestry sector — and to do it now.

At a media conference with Premier David Eby about protecting the forestry industry during trade talks, Western Region Director Gavin insisted “We can’t afford to pit one kind of worker against another. It has to be Forestry AND auto. Canola AND energy. Aerospace AND seafood

Trump’s new additional tariffs further the unwarranted attack our forest industry and the people who work in it. Families and communities in BC and the US will pay the price this reckless move.

President Trump’s absurd Section 232 tariffs on our softwood lumber, timber & wood products are a direct attack on workers, families, and communities across BC. They don’t just hurt us, they raise housing costs for American families and help competitors like Russia. #BCForestry

(2/4) Seats at the JIBC Police Academy will increase by 50% from 192 to 288. Funding 96 additional seats is just one part of our government’s broader public safety plan that focusses investments on the root causes of crime.

The choice is clear, President Trump: Russia or BC. Who do you want your softwood lumber from? The US relies on our lumber to build homes, yet tariffs completely slow construction (& give Russia a pass). Our message: fair trade with your closest ally is common sense. #bcpoli

(1/3) Delayed payments cause harm. The prompt payment legislation announced today provides clear timelines, along with a fast-tracked adjudication process so that payment related disputes can be resolved quickly and fairly.

This morning I’m putting forward a motion for the legislature to reject the homophobia, transphobia, and anti-choice views of ARPA. This organization calls gay and trans people "sinful" and "immoral." They are explicitly lobbying restrict the right to choose in BC. 1/2
