Concrete dry finishing is one of the finishing touches done on the project. The #PattulloBridgeReplacement is made with about 62,400 cubic metres of concrete; that’s enough to fill 25 Olympic swimming pools!

Here’s a look at the bridge’s south approach. The centre median barrier, fencing and lighting is now installed in this area.

This photo shows concrete waterproofing underway on the main bridge span in late October. Once waterproofing is complete, crews will place 2 layers of asphalt before painting lines on the roadway

In late October, after this precast concrete barrier was installed on the bridge approach in @CityofSurrey, crews placed grout in the anchor bolts block outs. This barrier will separate pedestrians and cyclists from vehicle traffic.

The last Rubrica crane has been removed from the bridge deck. A blue-and-yellow specialized lifter could previously be spotted hard at work installing the bridge deck segments. Now that the bridge deck installation is complete, the crane has been disassembled and removed.

The last segment of the #PattulloBridgeReplacement’s main span is complete! This means that steel, deck panels and stay cable installation are complete for the main span! Crews can now continue finishing works in this area.

This is an expansion joint installed at the south end of the bridge in @CityofSurrey. Expansion joints are placed between bridge sections to absorb the surface’s natural expansion and contraction due to environmental changes.

Steel girders have now been installed for the new E. Columbia St. exit ramp in @New_Westminster! This new off-ramp will connect northbound vehicles directly to E. Columbia St. eastbound.
