All of these changes (reduced early withdrawal penalties, increased COLA) are great for retirees but the pensions are already in tough shape financially and these added future obligations make it even less likely retirees will actually see those benefits. More benefits = more.
Those who commit their life to public service deserve to retire with dignity and security. That’s why I just signed a bill to boost pensions for Minnesota teachers, police officers, and firefighters.

Spending cuts don't fix this. Only substantive revenue growth and/or debt erosion via inflation change this trajectory. In the meantime, it's a fools errand predicting when this blows up. You can't know.
