#Etobicoke Councillor Stephen Holyday voted NO to school #food programs. He doesn't want his kids to "have the extra calories". No one should shame or vilify people for needing help. Having access to food & shelter is what every person and child deserves #topoli #onpoli #Toronto

Councillor Stephen Holyday says, "A [school food] program like this teaches a generation to look to the government, and sets an expectation to look to the government for their human needs, whehther it's food, shelter or so on."

And with that, I give you John Jordan MPP for Lanark County in Eastern Ontario, where three of four of our local ERs have closed since he was elected, and he has said precisely nothing. There will be a day of reckoning, politically.

“Phone your local politician every day”. Taxpayers deserve accountability and communication about why our ER’s are so unstable and why nearly every FD in my small community has shuttered their clinics…. Public silence is enabling this crisis to grumble along.

One weekend - 8 Ontario ER closures - how much lower can the Ford government sink. MPP and Leader Mike Schreiner says enough.

In 2020, everyone strived for "herd immunity". We (those in charge) ignored the biology and evolution of the disease. The virus changed, evaded, and adapted. We did not. Now, in 2023, we have achieved herd immune dysfunction. https://t.co/khGjEb9JpE

Swollen Sackville River. The Bedford Highway remains closed this afternoon in a couple of large sections, as an incredible amount of water continues to flow through the river. It doesn’t appear the waters have receded at all since this morning. #nsstorm #nswx

Good morning, @Belleville_Ont. You would do your town and yourselves a power of good if you were to insist that your civic leaders unanimously condemn the #KuKluxKonvoy street thugs who swarmed the Prime Minister on your streets yesterday. Right now it’s a very bad look. 🍁🍁🍁

I don't care what party in out great nation that our Prime Minister represents. This anger has been fueled by elected officials who swear an oath and have a code of conduct, which IMO they have violated. This must not be acceptable to us, the gaslighting and rage farming has

Please tell me this is a joke. Let me rephrase… EDs that move people thru quicker and provide faster visits (regardless of quality) will get more funding. Oh good. This just represents a complete misunderstanding of ED care. I don’t even know where to start. 1/

In an attempt to whet residents’ appetites for low-car spaces, this year Stockholm has created 42 Sommargågator (“Summer Streets”). Each has been temporarily transformed into an area for activities, events, culture and hangouts; decorated with furniture, plants, flowers and art.

Councillor Stephen Holyday has a prop. He shows off a “No Alcohol” sign he found on the internet. He asks Parks staff if they could design similar signs that he could deploy in parks in his ward. Staff say sure, that’s possible.

This does not excuse any level of government from leaving refugees to sleep on the streets for weeks while you all argue amongst yourselves! As a resident of your riding I am shocked at this cold response; humans are not pawns!

Despite abundant federal 💵, we’ve watched the City of Toronto mismanage its shelter system & Ontario gov abandon its responsibilities, leaving ppl on our streets. Toronto MP’s worked w. Min Fraser, who announced a 1-time $97M funding extension while the City resolves the issue.

I’ve probably taken 200,000 pictures with people in my life and I don’t have one with someone wearing a disparaging T-shirt with a very obviously easy to read hate filled message on it. This is a crock of shit. And this woman is a drip. She shouldn’t be leading a parade never

Ludicrous society that can build up and tear down an Indy course - concrete barriers, fencing, grandstands, hospitality suites - for a four day weekend, but can’t figure out how to put a roof over the heads of a relatively small number of refugees.
