I'm a little relieved to see SB1338 get signed in to law last week. It's not amazing, but it seems like a necessary step to help people. Despite (still) being an ACLU member and supporter, I disagree with their take on the matter. Cautious props to @GavinNewsom et al. for it.

I watched the @LinusTech video on how all car dash cams suck and I wonder if there's a cheaper and superior solution that can be made with the raspberry pi + camera module. Maybe better than the GoPro solution. Thoughts, @jeffgeerling ?.

Semi-philosophical #gamedev question: Lanna's Inception fixed the main story beats while procedurally generating the connecting bits. I like that idea but have to wonder if splitting the difference undermines the enjoyable aspects of story w/out adding "real" replayability. 🤔.

Formatting got eaten, but the idea is pretty simple. Stole the sigmoid function from #machinelearning and use that to squeeze the player's Z offset based on their relative position in the Y layer. Guaranteed not to be below 0 or above 1.
