I think this is spot on when it came to #GameOfThrones "Terrible narrative instincts". The stupidity of Sansa marrying Ramsey & leaving the Vale (making LF look like a moron) and killing off Rickon so needlessly for nothing when its clear GRRM had big plans for him.
@coopercooperco I think they cared but it turned out the showrunners had terrible narrative instincts and as soon as they ran out of source material and Martin stopped being a consultant on the show it turned to shit.

2 things happened: a) they ran out of source material and D&D are the not the writers GRRM is; and b) they had a Star Wars deal and stopped caring about the show and just wanted to wrap it up. and it showed. Even though HBO would have given them more time if they wanted.
The answer is obviously Game of Thrones but it's worth pondering why the finale failed so badly. The drop-off in quality between seasons 5 & 7 is the difference between character-driven storytelling and writing according to plot points. (thread).

The first one is true (and icky) but the second one is click-bait. Sue miscarried a baby girl, Franklin then did reality altering stuff to prevent that timeline from happening and so Valeria was born instead. Also Spider-Man made a deal with the devil that's still in force.

Cassandra is the only member of the Bat-family who I legitimately see spending all night fighting crime, & all day training, being in the Bat-cave with little to no social interaction outside her "family" & few "friends". And LIKING that life.

The only film I ever felt Lombard was miscast for. Carole as Charles Laughton's marriage-by-mail bride? Carole has an affair with William Gargan(!) (somehow with an Oscar nod for this)? Gets pregnant, ends up alone. And this is a drama! In 1940! It's a Stanwyck role, not Lombard.
Charles Laughton’s performance is certifiably hammy, but Carole’s restraint and vulnerability saves THEY KNEW WHAT THEY WANTED from going over the edge. The film is a great example of her versatility in other genres.

I never realized how much Emma Frost/Poison Ivy would have worked until now. The arrogance level would be off the charts, they either would hate each other throughout or get along like gangbusters.

MJ loves Peter, she went to him while she was seeing Paul, she (and the Symbiote) went to see him once she dumped Paul. Based on just the writing and art we've seen, MJ is OVER Paul. For some reason she apologized for breaking up, but there is NO reason for him to be in her life.
I feel sorry for Al because no one should have been handed this mess

Michael Kay has been one of Boone's biggest defenders for years. He's taken a lot of flack for it. Even as fans have trashed Boone for punting games, having no urgency, etc. Yet I have never seen Kay so frustrated by on-the-field moves as this year. Now he's one of us. #Yankees.

I will always say this - no hero (outside of the Dibnys obviously) was more damaged than Zatanna by Identity Crisis. She was basically made to grovel and look bad in subsequent appearances especially with Bruce. Meanwhile when Barry returned his role in IC was NEVER brought up.

There's another universe where Howard Hughes spends all that RKO money instead to make a classic western starring Wayne, Hayward, Agnes Moorehead and Pedro Armendariz instead of The Conqueror. And not near a nuclear test site either.
Watching THE CONQUEROR for the first time on #TCM - considered one of the worst movies ever and yes it is bad. My fave 1956 review of the film: "When it Waynes it Bores!"😆😆Duke is is badly miscast here but so is Susan Hayward - two actors I like. #TCMParty #SummerUnderTheStars

I do love they randomly included Bada just so the #Hinapia girls wouldn't be known as NuPristin. I also loved Bada's goodbye message was basically -thanks for letting me be an idol (after one just song and disbandment). And then just went to live her life.

What's killing theater going is this. Remember when WB opened "WW 1984" in theaters AND streaming at the same time! If you know you can see a blockbuster movie as part of your streaming service just by waiting a couple of months instead of going to the theater to see it, why not?.

This ep. was one of my favorite Shazam! media ever. The animated show didn't make Billy look like a chump to Supes in a fight (which the comics ALWAYS did) & him telling off the JL is probably one of my favorite JLA moments ever given their condescension to him at that point.
superman and shazam cross paths for the first time. i lowkey sensed some tension here . i knew this episode was gonna be a long one😭

Has she actually had a role in the recent books or are they just busting her out to show #Aquaman has a Hispanic character? Loved Lorena since the Sub-Diego storyline (underrated) and she has a fantastic Aquagirl costume but she's been barely used since.

I think Jay Garrick (The Flash) and Courtney Whitmore (Stargirl) are two of the most likeable characters in the DC Universe. The fact they are many generations apart and yet on the same team is what makes #JSA work as a title.

I don't how know how Eon, after decades of litigation to get the rights to use Blofeld again, and have Christoph Waltz play him, bungled so badly. Really - Ernst Stavro Blofeld is James Bond's foster brother who hates him purely due to Daddy issues? That's what you go with?.
Its honestly crazy its been 10 years since SPECTRE took James Bond on a sharp decline in it's product and storytelling . So much so, that it has yet to recover from ⚪️⚪️🔴.

Grace Kelly may have been Alfred Hitchcock's favorite "blonde" but I will always say that he got the best performance out of Kim Novak. He took an actress not known by critics as being a great actress & used her weaknesses as strengths as she has to underplay everything. #Vertigo.
Madeline tries to envelop herself in Scottie’s reality when she is laying in his bed, wrapped in a yellow blanket. She knows that she is deceiving Scottie into falling in love with a fantasy, and she’s beginning to wish that she could instead be present in his reality.
