ESA's Hera mission has spotted its first asteroids! Hera is on the way to the Didymos binary asteroid system to explore the aftermath of humankind's first attempt to move an asteroid. Though faint, these observations are very encouraging for the performance of Hera's camera.

Since May 20, #HeraMission is closer to Didymos than it is to Mars! Spacecraft is performing so well that we decided to remove margins to our maneuvers next year, we will arrive one month earlier on November 1, 2026 🦖☄️
