Alas, this is not the dunk the councillor seems to think it is.
Elevated rail in downtown Calgary could cause a property value drop of $100M-$160M ($2016) to Calgary's downtown, equivalent to the 2008 economic crisis. Are Minister Dreeshen and Premier Smith going to crush our downtown with their elevated rail plan? https://t.co/wScrrOhIkd

I’ve know @ABDanielleSmith for over a decade. She knows my door is always open to meet with her any time she wants to talk about evidenced-based policy, rule of law, and human rights. There’s nothing radical about following the Canadian Charter of Rights & Freedoms. #abpoli
Danielle Smith opens her remarks calling recently appointed Sen. @KristopherWells a “radical extreme LGBT activist.”

When it comes to creating new city-wide plans, it’s often better to plan for outcomes than for timeframes. Our new plan for Langford BC (a city that is literally transforming the way it does city planning) is for 100,000 residents. We explain what the means in this public post:
Residents of Langford BC, spread the word — you can take the OFFICIAL SURVEY for the new Official Community Plan “Refresh” process NOW and until September 15th! Use this link: https://t.co/26q3wSZEES The website also has great information, event dates and more. ADD YOUR VOICE!

STUDY: ‘Dual-mode households’ (cars & ebikes) can reduce their car use by 19% compared to those solely reliant on cars, particularly affecting shorter trips. This supports households moving to one car and adopting a ‘car light’ lifestyle. Via @MomentumMag

Still don’t get why bike-lanes need to be separated, with real protected bike infrastructure, and why paint isn’t real infrastructure? “Paint doesn’t protect.”Watch this powerful before-&-after video of Lansdowne Street in #Melbourne via MelbourneWay.

This is totally incoherent. Cities are hard problems and clout-chasing BS doesn’t help.
This picture is in essence the state of Toronto. A once world class city. Clunky sprawling 500sqft condo developments at $2300/unit/month. An arterial highway build next to a river, in a flood plain. Longest commute in North America. Among the highest costing in the world. Vast

Klaszus continues to do great work covering the new arena and the BMO center projects. I think a lot of fiscal cons would appreciate the nuance and context, as well as fact checking he brings to the numbers tossed around by #yyccc and #ableg. https://t.co/7XWZIHQmAo

The NDP has been in power for six years now in BC. Can any conservatives explain why it has a better credit rating than provinces run by Doug Ford, Scott Moe, and Danielle Smith?

Folks in the climate advocacy world tend to reflexively note that all progress is not enough and not fast enough. Sometimes, though, we should just gaze in awe -- no energy transition has ever moved this fast on some fronts

It’s a fair question Pags. There is something to agree and disagree about with both Trump and Biden and what they have done. Neither missed on everything, or, got it all right. What this comes down to is leadership and trust. I look at it as who would I hire. Having
@mcuban Mark -- I hope you at some point will explain why you feel so much angst about Trump. It doesn't add up. You have always been nice, helpful and gracious with me. You're a billionaire for a reason - -you worked for it. Biden is a life-long government official who is filthy

I just saw this Calgary travel cost estimator and I think it's great. When looking at it though, one might come to the conclusion that all the folks who drive are somehow irrational fools who should walk, bike or use transit. "Don't the understand the real costs?" However...

Base R-CG rezoning is an important debate #yyccc is going to have. But we can’t do it with irresponsible reporting like this from @citynewscalgary The building shown in this clip is not R-CG. It’s an apartment built in 1912 zoned CC-X in the Beltline. Retract & do better!
This reporter asks, imagine if blanket up zoning the entire city is passed. I stand by my comments that Calgarians need to be heard on something this consequential and should be put on the ballot at next years election.
