Latest #Isaaqgenocide victims are 3 children- 1 died and 2 injured. The mine was planted by Somalia government forces before 1991 during their occupation of Somaliland where they carried out Genocide against the Isaaq population. @HaloTrust

#IsaaqGenocide was real & its time the world should know about it. 500K innocent civilians were killed by Somali National Army. Major cities of Somaliland were completly destroyed by aerial bombardment or artillery shelling. 650K civilians crossed to border to Ethiopia fleeing.

It is alarming that mines are still claiming the lives of Somalilanders despite #HaloTrust efforts to remove the mines for the past 22 years. It is alarming that the @UNOSAPG have still not addressed the #Isaaqgenocide despite their previous report and recommendations

Today, the Canadian parliament unanimously passed a motion to recognize May 18th as Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day. On this very important day, Canada becomes the first national parliament in the world to recognize May 18th of each year as Tamil Genocide Remembrance Day.

Or #Somaliland, a nation that existed before their neighbour & perpetrator of Genocide @IsaaqGenocideEd The #UKgovernment wants #Somaliland to negotiate with their oppressor. It was 31 years ago when the re-claimed their independence but #Britain has still yet to regonise them 🙁

Through out June-July 1988 as SNM fought in Hargeisa,Ducaale Ganaane returned to Hargeisa central prison on every day to pick 30 of # 2000 Isaaq political prisoners (rounded up in May28,88) for execution. Some who proved their mothers were related to the executioner were spared.

Very hard to watch, extremely painful narratives. Geed Deeble was the largest place for treatment of the wounds of SNM fighters and innocent civilians fled from Hargeisa, there was no hospital and other facilities to treat them, the wards was under the big trees in Geed Deeble.
