Leopard cats (Prionailurus bengalensis) were kept as domestic cats in China starting about 5,000 years ago. Modern cats (Felis catus) descend from African wildcats and arrived later, after around 700 AD, via Silk Road trade. 📽: cascahexene https://t.co/fYci4ZQx2l

Memory dumps aren’t always reliable. In “A Comprehensive Quantification of Inconsistencies in Memory Dumps” (with @balzarot), to be presented on October 20 at RAID 2025, Gold Coast, Australia, we quantify, classify, and trace how kernel activity and acquisition setups cause them.

🚨 New research from EURECOM & Univ. of Milan! [1/3] “Unveiling BYOVD Threats: Malware’s Use and Abuse of Kernel Drivers” (to appear at NDSS’26) reveals how malware exploits signed drivers to gain kernel privileges. This work led to the discovery of 7 unknown weaponized drivers💣

We are alarmed by reports that Germany is on the verge of a catastrophic about-face, reversing its longstanding and principled opposition to the EU’s Chat Control proposal which, if passed, could spell the end of the right to privacy in Europe. https://t.co/015qmQnIS2

Got to love .co.uk behaviour. First they take down https://t.co/kOrlGMq4ym unless you are verified at the ISP level and now the frog further boils. This is not the behviour of a free and open society.

VLANs protect you as much, if not *moreso* than traditional antivirus, yet I barely know 2 people IRL that use them. IoT garbage? VLAN Work PC? VLAN Gaming Console? VLAN Who cares if something is compromised if it can't talk to anything useful.

Much like humans, CPUs heal in their sleep. CPUs are *technically* replaceable / wear items. They don’t last forever. Yet, the moment stress is removed, transistor degradation (partially) reverses. It's called Bias Temperature Instability (BTI) recovery:

🔥 So, at DEF CON there was a talk about deobfuscation: VMDragonSlayer by @Van1sh_BSidesIT. The author released the code and there's clearly huge amounts of AI slop.🤖 Now, WE WENT TO THE TALK and spoke with the speaker after the talk. 🧵
