Journalists share about challenge of the weight of these stories — though they didn’t directly experience the trauma, there’s pressure that comes with the reporting. @hayleighcolombo finds relief in her family, @indyemapolis says breaks are essential to “fill that creative cup.”

The “how” is hard because these pieces take time. @hayleighcolombo says let go of the idea you’re going to have dedicated time, because you likely won’t. Instead, what can be done in 30 minutes, a much more reasonable ask to beleaguered editors and news directors. @IndianaProSPJ

All journalists sharing how long the process is for great investigative work. @mirrorindy’s @Ty_Fenwick, @JennaRWatson and @indyemapolis discuss putting time into building a body of knowledge — so many documents — and from a visual perspective just building trust with sources.
