Things more important than #CarbonTax 1. Fix Bidding on Fed Contracts 2. Provincial barriers on #housing #jobs #trade 3. Fed Ministry of Education (Kindergarten to Post-Sec) 4. Restore Public Health Systems via #Canada Health Transfer (CHT) 5. Cooperatives for economic democracy

@ASterling To cut it short, any public facility that serves the public life should not be owned by a private entity but the state instead.

a toronto sister who used to be my neighbour recently became homeless & is now living in a makeshift shack in the city. thanks to the generosity of those who donated when she first became unhoused, she was able to weather-proof her shelter & secure a temporary roof over her head

Let’s talk about the free fridge movement: It’s where residents get a fridge, place it outside, plug it in to a local business and stock it with free food every week. The goal is to address food insecurity. It’s happening all across the nation.

Yesterday, many regular services for poor and unhoused people were closed, including warming centres. People with nowhere to be on Christmas Day were riding the TTC, and so were the fare inspectors Tell me why you're wearing a Santa hat to give out fines smh

No matter what the corporate elite tell you, let me make something clear: Universal health care is not radical. A living wage is not radical. Dignity in the workplace is not radical. Higher education without debt is not radical. Affordable housing is not radical.

Take our lanes, we'll take yours! Critical Mass is being organized for this Friday. Plan is to leave High Park at 6:30. Join us and put rubber to road in opposition to Bill 212 and efforts to take out our bike lanes. The fight starts now.

I came back from a trip and @AirCanada damaged my bags, my contents (clothing, gifts) in them and are not being straightforward about how I will be reimbursed. These are despicable business practices.

It is a really jarring moment to be a historian. To know what might be coming is alarming. To realize that no one around you sees it or acknowledges it is a weird place to be in. Its like time traveling without time traveling. 1/8

Whenever I hear a new detail in the Gisele Pelicot case I’m further horrified. Imagine thinking you’re in a loving marriage - and suddenly finding out your husband has been inviting men to assault you while you’re unconscious? It only gets worse from there /1 🧵
