Minister @jackfchambers:.“This review has considered some of the most important challenges facing Ireland: the need to provide for a growing and changing population, supporting Ireland’s competitiveness, ensuring balanced regional development and meeting our climate obligations."

This is the largest ever capital investment plan in the history of the State and will enable the delivery of thousands of new homes, provide more childcare and school places, invest in children’s disability services and ensure better healthcare for all.

The review includes an additional €34 billion relative to the previous 2021-2030 NDP including equity funding of €10 billion to 2030 to fund large strategic projects in energy, water and transport.

The plan sets out:.🔵Total investment of €275.4 billion over the period 2026 to 2035;.🔵Sectoral capital allocations of €102.4 billion for the years 2026 to 2030; and.🔵A further €100 billion for 2030 to 2035.

Government has today published the updated National Development Plan, with unprecedented levels of investment, to secure Ireland's future, unlock housing, upgrade water and energy infrastructure, deliver more roads, and provide better public transport.

Speaking on the importance of todays summit, Minister @jackfchambers said:. “The Competitiveness summit provided a vital platform to address the key challenges and opportunities shaping Ireland’s competitiveness.

Taoiseach @MichealMartinTD today hosted the second annual Competitiveness Summit, in conjunction with Tánaiste @SimonHarrisTD , @jackfchambers and Minister @peterburkefg , to discuss the competitiveness challenges facing the Irish economy.

"Tax revenues are strong. As we prepare for Budget 2026, we need to carefully manage expenditure in the second half of the year, while continuing to commit the necessary resources to improve our public services, support our people and enhance quality of life across our country.”

Minister Chambers said:. “Today’s figures show a significant increase in capital expenditure which underscores Government commitment to investing in the infrastructure our community needs and which is critical to enhancing our economic competitiveness. "

Minister Chambers said of the RRF:. "With this payment, Ireland has received 38% of our overall allocated funding, which is worth €1.15 billion, and marks the successful achievement of 48% of the milestones and targets within our plan”. #NextGenerationEU

Payments under the RRF are performance-based and depend on the successful implementation by Ireland of the investments and reforms as set out in its National Recovery and Resilience Plan (NRRP). Full Press Release:.

Ministers @jackfchambers and @Paschald have today welcomed Ireland’s second payment under the EU’s Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF). Ireland will receive €1.15 billion in grants over the lifetime of the RRF.

Over 4 weeks, 6 postgraduate teams from @NCAD_Dublin responded to 3 design briefs:.Strengthening Connection to the State at the Birth of a Child.Supporting Students - Empowering the Transition to Adulthood and Lifelong Learning.Improving Public Participation in Policy Development

Addressing an audience of senior civil servants across Government, the students were on hand to discuss and present their work, highlighting the importance of design in addressing complex public service challenges linked to policy and life events.

As part of the Action Plan for Designing Better Public Services, the Public Service Transformation Design Team hosted an exhibition of work by @NCAD_Dublin Interaction Design masters students in Government Buildings.
