This is either deliberately disingenuous or poster doesnât know how medical payments work. âamount billedâ means nothing. You can bill $1 million if you want. Itâs the amount paid and amount you owe. These are pre contracted amounts with the ins co. Billed is totally irrelevant.
A few weeks ago my wife went to the hospital for stomach pain. They did a CT Scan of her abdomen and thankfully didn't find anything serious. Today we got the bill in the mail: $9,117.42. Healthcare is broken.

Louder for the people in the back: NEVER BUY A MEDICARE ADVANTAGE PLAN. Medicare doesnât require prior auth! Private insurers do and will find ways to deny things!!!! It is the biggest scam of all time.

I had a med student once ask âwill rounds always take so long?â after we finished at 11am. I truly hope theyâre now thriving in the surgical subspecialty of their choice.

Letâs not forget most oropharyngeal cancers. People donât care about cervixes because itâs âonly womenâ. Tell them they will never be able to eat or swallow normally, itâs a different conversation.
We could completely eliminate cervical cancer in our lifetime but antivaxxers want to make that impossible because they think children should still get preventable diseases (including cancer).

I really want to evangelize that untreated OSA is a huge cause of ED. I bet all the men who think CPAP is unsexy/unmanly would act very differently if they knewâŚ.
As a physician and more importantly the spouse of someone with OSA who doesn't snore when he wears his device, I am also a CPAP evangelist!.Also improves your testosterone levels!.
