More companies in Fall River are at minimum staffing now β including Engine 2, which saved a child last night. Four FFs on a crew means faster water on the fire and a quicker search. This is why we push for minimum staffing. It keeps communities safe. https://t.co/IgaIP1kIzK

For decades, Jackson, MS Local 87 has been without a collectively bargained contract. Not anymore. Local 87 and city leaders agree that a stronger fire service means a safer Jackson for residents and fire fighters. Their new contract helps deliver on that promise.

Patrick Brady came from a proud firefighting family and devoted his life to protecting others. His service and sacrifice will never be forgotten.
With deep sadness, the UFA announces the line-of-duty death of Firefighter Patrick Brady, Ladder 120. Firefighter Brady, 42, served the FDNY for 11 years. He suffered cardiac arrest while operating at a Brooklyn fire on November 8 and later passed away at Brookdale Hospital.

For 27 days, federal #firefighters have answered the call β without a paycheck. Itβs time to end the political games & pay federal workers. The IAFF proudly stands with @AFGENational in calling on Congress to pass a clean CR & reopen the government. https://t.co/nzU0B6nosm

A clean continuing resolution isnβt about politics β itβs the responsible path forward while Congress completes its full-year appropriations bills and fulfills commitments made to those standing on the front lines of public safety. (3/3)

A shutdown means fire fighters are denied pay for their hard work. Fire fighters deserve to know their pay wonβt be held up because of partisan battles. Β The @IAFFofficial urges Congress to pass a bipartisan, clean continuing resolution that keeps the government open. (2/3)

Government shutdowns are the ultimate lose-lose situation. Β Regardless of the budget battles in Washington, federal fire fighters show up to work every day to protect military installations, airfields, and government offices. (1/3)

September 11 is a reminder of what fire fighters give in service to others. We honor those who died so others could live, and those we continue to lose to 9/11-related illness, by carrying their memory forward β today and every day.
On this day, we honor the lives lost on Sept. 11, 2001 β and pay tribute to the fire fighters and first responders who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to others. We will never forget.

I was pleased to welcome Edward Kelly, President of @iaffofficial, who testified yesterday and led us in a moment of silence on the eve of 9/11. We will never forget the nearly 3,000 Americans who lost their lives that day, including 343 FDNY members & one NYC fire patrolman.
