This is bonkers.
This takes a bit of explaining, but, suffice it to say Lehrer dropped a cheeky reference to a satirical song he wrote into the bibliography of an academic paper he wrote for a certain secretive government agency…and nobody got the joke until it was declassified. A nerd’s nerd.

“We laugh but still I am hamless” is a great line and now I’m going to think about this periodically and smile — by the way I went and saw “king Lear” in Staunton with @troutfishfarms a while back and the show was amazing and so was hanging out with him (💚ya Virginia).
My parents got a Costco memebership and keep asking me if I want anything if I need something and I tell them, I play a song even, I say "I would like one Jambon Iberico, direct from the adulusians!" and we laugh but still I am Hamless.
