Fulton DA Willis has been building her Trump racketeering case over the last 2 1/2 years, largely behind closed doors. Now her work is seeing the light of day - and it’s about to be tested in two downtown Atlanta courthouses My latest:

I don’t remember a lot of detail from 9/11 when it happened. I was about to turn 7, and my little kid brain must’ve shut a lot of it out. So tomorrow starting at 8:47am, I’ll be watching the recording of the Today Show live broadcast. https://t.co/ilr8CJeL3Z

This is why reporters have to be so critical of our own language and fact checking when reporting on information provided to us from police. Because sometimes β€œshortness of breath” means β€œbeaten to death.”

Wow! Judge Glanville said he won't hold her in contempt. Instead, he's making her write a 30-page essay on the importance of jury service. It's due in three weeks and the judge is running it through a plagiarism checker.

True crime media should only exist when it fulfills a public service: police and prosecutorial accountability. Everything else is just sick and exploitative.

Short thread. I made a really hard decision a couple weeks ago. I resigned from my job as a public defender. I have been experiencing serious mental health struggles for a long time, and in place of taking care of myself, I tried to take care of clients.

According to its public data, DOJ opened dozens of "election fraud" investigations in the months after the 2020 election. Nearly all were closed for a lack of evidence. You can't read anything into a "no-records" FOIA response, as DOJ's civil litigators likely know.
