The response from my colleagues, friends and fans has been truly overwhelming. And extremely heartening. It helps me to focus on improving, and finding a way to sing again. Thanks to everyone. - Huey
Thank you to the

Aretha Franklin was the greatest soul singer ever, and perhaps the greatest American female singer of all time. The depth of her talent was incredible, and can only be explained as a divine gift. The angels just received their lead singer. - Huey

Huey: Acting with Betty White on “Hot in Cleveland” was one of my truly great experiences. She was funny, of course, smart, and very sweet. And talk about comedic timing. What an amazing career, and what a great person. I’m so lucky I got to work with her.

"I have two wonderful children who have supported me and helped me through this illness. My son has become my best friend. He has turned into this wonderful person who looks after his father. And I need some looking after. So I’m very pleased."

Huey: A lot of our songs actually fit better today, in our ripe old age, than when we were in our 20s. We were kind of old fashioned then, so we’ve grown into it better in a way.
The power of love is a curious thing
Make a one man weep, make another man sing
Change a hawk to a little white dove
More than a feeling that’s the power of love
"What aspects of your music career prepared you for your acting career?"
Huey: None. I think it's a different thing, although both are practiced by people who like attention. Maybe that's the common bond.
Warning: Someone is again impersonating Huey on

"The track is delightfully reminiscent of Huey Lewis and the News’ Eighties heyday, with crisp drums and bass buoying organ, guitar and a punchy horn section.” -

I had the idea one "morning after," when I had to get up and visit my lawyer early one day … I wrote the lyric in my car on the way to his house, and asked him for a pen and paper as soon as he answered the door … I wrote most of the song right there. - Huey
Bill: I’m saddened to hear that Charlie Watts has passed away. I was never fortunate enough to have met Charlie, but I have a few dear friends who were friends of his, and all accounts portray Charlie as a kind, caring, good man. Heaven’s band just got a little hipper.
Huey: When we first opened for the Doobie Brothers, we got booed. Our first show, I think we had like 10 or 11 songs. As soon as a song would end, the boos would start. We learned to launch right into the next song immediately, so we didn't give the crowd a chance to boo.
My dad was a jazzer. He was a doctor but he was a closet musician. He was a drummer and had jam sessions all the time. He had a drum kit set up in the living room and I listened to big band jazz growing up, and I still do. I love it. - Huey
“What sticks out in your mind the most about the recording of ‘Sports’?”
Bill: The amount we spent on swordfish. There’s a restaurant in Sausalito near where we overdubbed the album. Every night we would order several swordfish dinners. The bill at the end of month was $7,000.
Huey: When I was 11 years old, my parents got divorced. My mom rented out a room to a boarder, Billy Roberts, who was a folk singer (he wrote the song "Hey Joe"). He had a zillion harmonicas and he gave me a bunch of his old ones. That's how I first got into them.
