Making transit usable is a disaster for our cities.
The rollout of new real-time departure signs continues on @NJTRANSIT_HBLR π Installation is complete at Essex Street & underway at Bergenline Ave & Newport, where demand for better info has been strong. During installation, use the NJ TRANSIT app for scheduled departures.

Driving in NYC today. And yes there was a lot of traffic. And yes it took a while to get through the tunnel. But one thing is especially clear to me: Congestion pricing is INFRINGING on my RIGHT to be stuck in traffic.

@ihateyouall354 @KevinRBing @Streets_PAC_NJ I agree with you. The best way to reduce traffic jams is to widen roads and to encourage more people to drive.

Less traffic? More efficient and sustainable transportation? This is the future that liberals want.
This is what the anti-motor-vehicle fanatics would like to do to the West Side Highway. Why not just announce the imposition of a blockade on yourself, and demand that the delivery of all goods and services be cut off?

This is wrong. Why should buses get preferential treatment? Do people think they're somehow: 1. Reducing traffic 2. Better for the climate 3. Cheaper to use than the cost of gas, insurance, maintenance, parking, registration, and loan payments Why would they think that???

It's so annoying when a bunch of cyclists go on a group ride and slow us down.

@Peter1987Fallow @eaconner @GovMurphy If only we could build a society where people say, walk, or take transit that is: 1. More energy-efficient 2. Much *Less* polluting 3. A better use of taxpayer money than personal automobiles. If only such a technology existed...oh well I guess we are stuck with cars forever.

@Peter1987Fallow @eaconner I should also add: when the PATH trains are crowded, they slow down. Because of traffic. Just like cars. Just ask anyone who regularly rides transit.

@Peter1987Fallow @eaconner I agree with you, Peter. We should use congestion pricing to _incentivize_ driving because personal automobiles will always be more efficient than mass transit. Traffic congestion is a feature! Not a bug. Same with air pollution impacts. And insurance costs. Oh! And gasoline too

On this Christmas, let us remember that it was Jesus who probably said: "Even if good transit, dense housing, and mixed-use zoning are keys to reducing homelessness and solving the climate crisis...it would ruin the character of the neighborhood. "And also where will I park?"
Pope Leo presided over the Christmas Eve mass in Vatican City and said the story of Jesus being born in a stable because there was no room at an inn should remind Christians that refusing to help the poor and strangers today is tantamount to rejecting God https://t.co/i6vDcMuIuH

@NoCongestionTax Agreed. Everyone knows that people only want transit because the @MTA is a big, publicly traded, for-profit corporation with a large marketing budget so they can make more money.

I am pro-housing, but I can't in good conscience support building more housing for people if we don't also build more housing for cars.

And sure, people will say "but @HudCountyCars walkable development and good transit make car ownership less necessary" And to that I say: Sure, maybe I don't need a car, but Where π will π I π park π ? π

This holiday season, I am praying to solve the problems my children will face: Bigger than world peace. Bigger than climate change. Bigger than housing affordability. Bigger than clean air to breath. What truly unites Americans? That's right: our ability to find parking.

Sure, we could protect the environment while also reducing housing and energy costs, increasing social connections, reducing obesity rates and air pollution...but, and say it with me: Where π will π I π park π ? π
Inner New Jersey has half the population of NYC and is building more housing in absolute and per capita terms. To all the conservationists out there, those little black dots in the suburbs are way worse for the environment. We need to make development in our cities easier.
