Water and hydroxide transport are critical for membrane electrode assembly electrolyzer for CO electroreduction. We report methods to tailor this transport for high efficiency, leading to 1 A/cm2 at 2.4 V, and c2+ yield of > 90%. @EPFL_CHEM_Tweet

It might seem my career is of glories, going from one paper to another award all the time. But the reality is far from it. We all have ups and downs, and more often downs. The day I received news of this award, I also learned the rejection of a major grant, two years in a row.

A true collaborative work with 17 authors! First results were obtained 4 years ago. Key points: Porous nitrogen-doped carbon (pN-C) promotes Ru due to charge transfer tolower HBE of Ru,, and promotes Pt by inducing Pt single atoms which leads to more favorable water structure.

Fuel cells currently depend on platinum group metals (PGM). We use a nitrogen-doped carbon support to promote the activity of PGMs, resulting in the highest PGM-utilization rate in anion exchange membrane fuel cells. A tour de force study led by @NiWeiyan
