The moment when Luka realizes he’s legit taking it away is too funny, man.
Luka Doncic was chilling with his dad while drinking a beer, and Michael Finley just took it away 😭. (via @GrantAfseth).

An enormous bummer; particularly bc of how genuinely friendly he is. Social media really has broken certain things, and it sucks.
Jen Hale: "What's your favorite dish? What are you looking forward to eating the most?". Zion Williamson: "You're trying to set me up. No matter what answer I give, social media going to clown me. So no comment.".

Have some professional news to share: I'm officially back at @ESPN as a senior writer to cover the NBA. Got to write so many fun, deep-dive stories here before, and am hyped to have the opportunity to do it again.

@ProfessaJay This is all so infuriating. And all the more sad, bc I know we grew up in the same area, and ppl try all the time to say how much of a utopia we lived in. It was bad, too. Smfh.

This stadium = LA's version of the Sears Tower in Chicago. In other words: "Y'all can change the name to whatever you want, but I'm still calling it by its original name; thanks."
Staples Center – the iconic home of the Los Angeles Lakers and Clippers among others since 1999 – will have a new name beginning Dec. 25: Arena. It’s believed to be the largest U.S. venue naming rights deal to date.

The WNBA players are unambiguous in what they do. They don’t get nearly enough credit for how intentional, outspoken and united they are.
The Chicago Sky are wearing Vote Warnock t-shirts as they play the Atlanta Dream. Warnock is ome of the Democrats running against Kelly Loeffler, the Republican Senator who is an owner of the Dream.

One thing that flies under the radar w/ analytics and advanced stats: They also offer a way to fact-check stuff that simply isn’t true.
Interesting comment. Paul George finished 33% of his total plays using the pick-and-roll, which was a career-high. The prior high was 25% in OKC, via @SynergySST stats. That’s very different from a Ray Allen or JJ Redick style role.

I think the avg person looks at his baseball pursuit as a failure without realizing how insanely difficult it would be to get as decent/competent as he got at another pro sport. Particularly at that age.
April 7, 1994: Michael Jordan goes 2-5 with a double and two RBIs for the White Sox in an exhibition game against the Cubs at Wrigley Field. Harry Caray on the call.
