Some of our year 7 girls competed in the Doncaster Knights Girls School Rugby Touch 7s Tournament. They were entered into the Bowl Play-Offs, which they won, and also went on to win the Bowl Final! It was a great afternoon experienced by all, Well Done Girls!

On Tuesday we had our first Culture Day at Ridgewood. Students engaged in some fantastic lessons, participated in African drumming and enjoyed a variety of foods from different cultures. There was a real buzz in the Dining Room!

Staff & students took part in a two minute silence at 11am, a wreath was presented by 3 of our prefects, outside in our quad area. This was accompanied by ‘The Last Post’ being played from the centre of the school.

The Y12 Geographers went on a visit to Sheffield to support our Changing Places topic and fieldwork skills. Students visited several Sheffield locations collecting data to investigate. Students will now start to analyse, conclude and evaluate the data that was collected.

Some of our Year 9 students took part in an elite skills development session with representatives from the British Army. This required them to demonstrate their communication and teamworking skills. Well done to all pupils involved!

Last Week, the Y9 DT Aspire students took part in a STEM based activity delivered by the RAF. Students had to communicate effectively to build their own suspension bridge. It was fantastic to see the students working together applying maths and problem-solving skills. Well Done!

Local primary schools have been working with our cast of Matilda and Arts International this week to recreate scenes from the production and recreate the musical numbers. Ridgewood students did the school proud!

Year 7 have been welcomed with a new unit helping them become experts in secondary science. Students are completing practical investigations including creating and comparing cooling curves for water in different glassware to decide which cup would keep tea hot for the longest.
