Recent data shows Millennials are struggling with addiction. Recovery is possible with treatment, but when insurance coverage is denied—often illegally—many families are unable to pay for adequate care on their own. Learn more at https://t.co/rQo466nZMi. #DontDenyMe

RCT compared opioids & other pain meds. Patients who took opioids fared no better over long term than those who used safer alternatives. By some measures using non-opioid drugs such as Tylenol, ibuprofen & lidocaine provided more pain relief. #Physiatry

Seven years ago Act 48 became law and Vermonters decided 0% should be the uninsured rate in the State. We need to know what our lawmakers feel is the acceptable uninsured rate now-10%,15%, 20%? That could be where we are headed and it is not acceptable.

"Hospitals should be a last resort, not the hallmark of the health care system." The best way to make healing the focus of the health care system is more investment in primary care, mental health, and community based services.:Doctors, Revolt!

I am testifying again today in support of the Universal Primary Care bill (S.53). I hope our legislative leaders are willing to do the right thing for Vermonters. Those who lose their coverage in the next few years will at least have access to primary care.
