This is what happens when we let AI into our homes—especially with kids. No guardrails. Real risks. Lives lost. Take action before the White House and Congress strips states’ power to protect families: 👉 https://t.co/VOLl3SzIEj

Instagram launched #TeenAccounts in Sept 2024, promising safer experiences for kids. & yet 47% of 13–15 y/os say they saw unsafe content or unwanted messages in the past month? Even worse... teens say they’ve grown “used to it.” Read more:

Wow. Reuters/@JeffHorwitz with the story: Instagram Teen Accounts are flawed, according to new research by academics and a former Meta engineer: "Features meant to prevent young users from surfacing self-harm-related content by blocking search terms were easily circumvented."

We supported this research because kids deserve better. Led by whistleblower Arturo Béjar w/ US & UK academics + child safety groups, the findings are damning: 80% of Instagram’s “teen safety” tools don’t work. Read the full report: https://t.co/OrzIfQE1jd

This isn’t a glitch. It’s intentional. @Meta 's products harm kids... by design. Thank you @designitforus & @accountabletech for exposing these harms.

Today, we demanded that those in power act. Not someday. Not when it’s convenient. Now. Because clearly @Meta's current approach is failing. And every day without stronger safeguards means more kids at risk. @DesignItForUs @ptogetheraction
