We learn more from reading on paper than on screens. 54 studies, 171k people: we process print more deeply than digital content—as long as it's informational rather than purely narrative. The paper advantage holds across ages and has grown over time. Long live physical books.

Job insecurity negatively affects mental health. But recent research suggests religiousness buffers the adverse mental health effects of job insecurity. Interestingly, this effect is found in Protestants but not in Catholics. https://t.co/8gdbu1kVrj

Fascinating new paper on ostracism in everyday life -- 'Most ostracism episodes were directed toward people of equal status, and participants reported lower levels of belonging but higher levels of control after ostracizing someone.'

The longer men have been married, the more time they spend relaxing and sleeping. The longer women have been married, the more time they spend on cooking and chores. One of the best gifts to give for #MothersDay is to close the gender gaps in housework and leisure.

Our paper provides a (hopefully) useful insight into sickness absence across the UK police. Of interest is that frontline uniformed officers (directly exposed to trauma) were less likely to take sick leave than non-unformed police staff. @Derektracy1 @rcpsychOHSIG @MarchonStress
